Rare variant M1 Garand bayonet from WWI German ersatz Mauser bayonet !!!

Here is a neat item from the War to end All Wars  — WWI !
A genuine vintage German made ersatz Mauser bayonet that was sold to the Turks after the Great War for their Mauser rifles.  Fast forward some 30 years, after WWII and the onset of the Cold War, these bayonets were converted by Turkey to fit the M1 Garand rifle when they joined NATO.
Thus, these bayonets started as a WWI German ersatz Mauser bayonet and later became M1 Garand bayonets.  A neat and rare variant.
In good to very good condition overall.
Bayonet itself may have a healthy dose of cosmoline from years of storage to prevent rust. It can be easily removed with a paper towel.
